My roots in music go back to my childhood days. My father and uncles played in an Irish-American band. They played music at local pubs and function halls in and around Boston. Their repertoire evolved to include mainstream American music and they often performed at local weddings as well. Frequently, I would tag along to some of the band’s rehearsals and public performances. I developed an appreciation for the music they played, which included timeless hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, and also established a base of knowledge for my future career as a DJ.
As a child, I also played the violin and the guitar. Through my experience playing musical instruments, I was able to develop an ear for beat and an understanding of rhythm and other qualities of music, creating a great foundation for my future DJ career.
A vacation to my parents’ homeland of Ireland sparked my interest in becoming a DJ. While we were there, my family and I attended local town dances and I was amazed by the DJs who seamlessly mixed music and captivated the crowds on the dance floor. I knew then that someday I wanted to be able to do the same.
My career as a professional DJ began in 1992. In the early years of my career, I worked under the tutelage of one of the areas top DJs, gaining invaluable experience. Throughout the 90’s, I also performed at some of the most popular clubs in the Boston area, including the NYC Jukebox (Boston), Playoffs Sports Bar (Boston), Playoffs Sports Bar (Weymouth), Baja Beach Club (Quincy), and Hemmingways (Quincy).
Today, I am an independent mobile DJ, specializing in exceptional weddings. The most discriminating brides and grooms choose me to DJ the most important event of their lives – their wedding day. I have performed at some of the area’s top venues, including the Copley Plaza Hotel (Boston), the Bay Tower Room (Boston), the Sheraton Hotel (Boston), the Barker Tavern (Scituate), Lombardo’s (Randolph) and many more.
